ABOUT OUR SLIMES
Are slimes edible?
While our slimes may tempt your taste buds with their fantastic appearance and tantalising scents, they're strictly off the menu! Slime is considered a toy, not a snack, so resist the temptation to take a nibble - even the add-ons like charms and glitters are a no-go. Remember, chomping down on slime or its accessories is a serious choking hazard and could land you in a sticky situation! In case of accidental ingestion, don't hesitate to seek help from medical or emergency services.
Is there an age limit for slime?
Whilst slime can be enjoyed by many people for hours of fun, we recommend our slimes for people aged 8 and up, and/or under parent supervision. Due to slime being a potential choking hazard or ingestion risk, it should be strictly kept away from children under 3 years old.
However, it is never too late to start your slime journey!
Which slime is best for me?
We have classified all our slimes as Beginner, Intermediate and Expert levels. For those new to slime, we recommend beginning with the Beginner level and working your way up to Expert.
Beginner - These slimes are going to be the ones that are easier to play with as they are almost non-sticky and easy to handle, especially if you have never played with slime before.
Intermediate - These slimes are better suited for someone who has played with slime before and tend to have a slightly stickier texture when played with, compared to beginner level slimes.
Expert - These slimes are recommended for people who consider themselves a slime pro! This is due to the fact that they are much more stickier to your hands if you are not quick with your movements.
What ingredients do Cyber Slimes use to create slime?
The primary ingredient used in slime is Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA) and diluted Borax.
In addition to this (depending on your slime of choice), it may also contain: colourant, fragrance oil (which may contain nuts), mineral oil, glycerin, alumina silicate, non-toxic craft materials and non-toxic absorbent polymers.
We do not recommend slime for those with sensitive skin or who may have an allergic reaction to the listed ingredients.
Note: prolonged play with slime may cause irritation due to the nature of ingredients used.
How long will my slime last?
With proper care, all slimes can last a few months. We recommend referring to your provided care instructions to prolong the life of your slime.
It is important to note, it is normal for slime to deflate or melt over time due to the nature of the ingredients used. All slimes will expire over time as this is unavoidable.
Always remember, to wash your hands before and after playing with slime, use a clean surface to play with your slime and avoid any debris or bateria from getting into your slime. This will help to keep your slime in a good state for as long as possible.
Slime should be stored in an airtight container and stored in a cool environment. Slime should be frequently reactivated (using your Borax slime activator kit) to avoid your slime from melting.
If your slime has been in a deflated state for too long, it may be time to replace your slime.
SLIME CARE
How do I fix sticky slime?
Slime can become sticky in warm weather, heat during transit or simply breaks down over time. We recommend storing it in a cool place.
We include a Slime Care Card and Activator powder with every order. Follow the directions on the card to create a solution that can help restore the slime to its desired texture.
You should progressively add a few drops of the activator mix to your slime and knead it into your slime until you reach your desired consistency. Don't add too much activator at once as you can over-activate your slime and cause it to become too stiff.
Remeber to store excess activator solution in a marked container for future use.
Note: Do not use activator mixture unless your slime has become too sticky to handle comfortably or returned to a glue-like consistency. Cloud / Icee Slimes generally DO NOT need activating but can be used if you want a firmer stretch. This may alter your slime texture.
Slime care tips
With proper care, all slimes can last a few months. We recommend referring to your provided care instructions to prolong the life of your slime.
Always remember, to wash your hands before and after playing with slime, use a clean surface to play with your slime and avoid any debris or bateria from getting into your slime. Limiting play-time to 10-15 minutes is also a good idea as excessive play or heat from your hands can cause slime to break down. This will help to keep your slime in a good state for as long as possible.
Slime should be stored in an airtight container and stored in a cool environment.
Slime should be frequently reactivated (using your Borax slime activator kit) to avoid your slime from melting.
Slime unfortunately cannot be washed and should not be mixed with detergents as this will change the chemical composition of your slime. This could result in your slime becoming damaged.
What is the Borax Slime Activator kit and how does it work?
Borax slime activator is included in your order. Once the powder is combined with water (as per the instructions), it will create a diluted borax solution.
You should progressively add a few drops of the activator mix to your slime and knead it into your slime until you reach your desired consistency. Don't add too much activator at once as you can over-activate your slime.
If you run out of solution, you can always purchase one of our Slime Care Kits.
Note: always use gloves when handling borax. Borax repeated or prolongued excessive exposure with skin can result in irritation.
Do not use activator mixture unless your slime has become too sticky to handle comfortably or returned to a glue-like consistency. Cloud / Icee Slimes generally DO NOT need activating but can be used if you want a firmer stretch. This may alter your slime texture so excertise care.
Recommended Slime Re-Activation Cycles
Our handmade slimes are crafted with high quality ingredients, unlike commercial slimes that are primarily manufactured cheaply, resulting in incredibly rubbery and non-stretchy textures. In order to be able to create slimes that can stretch well, Cyber Slimes slimes will inevitably break down and will return to a glue-like consistency over a period of time (this is just the science behind slime production and is a natural process of slime).
However, depending on the texture of the slime this process can vary from weeks to months or even a year.
We’ve categorised each slime texture to make sure you are better aware of your slime’s reactivation care cycle for better peace of mind. This is found on individual product pages.
Your slime will need re-activation based on the recommended cycles below to return your slime back to your desired consistency.
Regularly:
These slimes should be re-activated approximately every 2-3 weeks.
Once in a while:
These slimes should be re-activated approximately every 1-1.5+ months.
Rarely:
These slimes should be re-activated approximately every 6+ months.
Almost Never:
These slimes should be re-activated approximately every 12+ months.
Note: Re-activation is based on how the slime feels (and personal preference) and timeframes above are indicative. Too much activation can cause slime to rip and become stiff.
Re-eactivation is heavily dependant on how often you play with your slime, how clean your hands are while playing and how much you inflate your slime. Some slimes can be sticky after playing but may just need a bit of time to re-settle.
Every order is dispatched with a borax slime activator kit so that you can continue to activate your slime for some time. If you run out you can purchase additional activator through our Slime Care page.
I got slime on my clothes, my carpet or other surfaces, how do I fix this?
We recommmend a mix of 50/50 while vinegar and cold water to tackle any stubborn stains. Test the solution on a small patch first to ensure that the surface won't be damaged, then spray a small amount of the solution onto the stain and use a soft brush to clean the stain away. Finish the job with some paper towel to absorb any remaining liquid.
My slime has become stiff, how do I fix this?
Over time slime can become stiff and hard as a result of cooler weather conditions. There are a few ways to fix this depending on the slime type:
Clear slimes: Leave your slime in an airtight container and place it in a warm place for a few days. This will allow the slime to soften.
Opaque slimes: Simply add a small amount of gylycerin (from our Slime Care Kit) or unscented lotion to the slime and knead until the slime softens and you reach your desired consistency.
Note: Do not use activator mixture unless your slime has become too sticky to handle comfortably or returned to a glue-like consistency. Cloud / Icee Slimes generally DO NOT need activating but can be used if you want a firmer stretch. This may alter your slime texture.
